I don’t even know where to begin with writing this post!…. I’ll start off saying that Jose Villa is one of the kindest, sweetest, loving, giving, warm-hearted souls out there! I feel so blessed, honored and forever grateful to call him a friend! I went to Jose‘s workshop last year in Italy (you can see images on my old blog here). It was my very first workshop, and I had no idea of what to expect from it! To be honest I was very intimidated and a little scared, but leaving that Italy workshop was literally a life changing experience! There really isn’t any other words to describe my experience that I had there! And I know my friends that I made in Italy can all attest to that as well!
So, what made me come to Mexico a year later?! Well…Jose! He seriously is just so amazing that you just want to learn more! I didn’t go alone either! Three other girls that I met at the Italy workshop came to Mexico with me as well! My friends Yazy, Laura and Kristen! We all came together to this workshop with the intention of shooting only FILM and we all shot on our Contax 645!
We stayed at the most gorgeous place in Guadalajara at The Hacienda el Carmen. If you ever get the chance to go there, you will not regret it! The food was incredible, the location stunning and the spa…well it was amazing! Every morning we would wake up, open the door to our room to head out for breakfast and see beautiful peacocks roaming around. Then we would dive straight into class time and then time for shooting. I definitely tried to soak everything in from what was being taught…and its still sinking in.I know I left this workshop SO inspired!
I want to thank Jose and his AMAZING crew for all of their hard work to making everything run so smoothly, for being so honest and open and willing to share everything with us! You all were seriously amazing…so thank you, thank you to: jose villa workshops | Joel Serrato | Lacie Hansen | Nancy Villa | Joy Thigpen | Jill La Fleur | Mar of Team Hair & Makeup | Karina Puente | Bill of Richard Photo Lab | Saja Wedding Gowns | Amy of Wedding Chicks | Abby of Style Me Pretty | Hacienda El Carmen | Erica O’brien | Fuji Film | Cypress Albums | Ryan of Finch Design | Paloma’s Nest
Jose, if you read this, I just want to say how very grateful I am for everything! So very happy that I was able to attend your workshop…again! Thank you for believing in me and for pushing me and for your faith in me! Thank you for everything you have helped me with. Thank you for your friendship, it means the world to me! You were always there for me, especially when things got tough, and I couldn’t thank you enough! You have a special place in my heart, and I honestly just love you so much.

diana
