“This design was a collaborative effort by the Chapel Designers lead by Holly Chapple at the 2014 Chapel Designers/Florabundace Design Days event. The designs were inspired by beautiful California grown icelandic poppies and foliages of sea star fern, agonis foliage, pieris japonica, and eucalyptus. The designs had a rustic organic feel but the poppies added whimsy and happy to the typical rustic vibe. Peach juliet David Austin roses grown by Alexandra farms were used to give the designs a romantic elegance. The long table also known as a king table, is a fabulous way to seat guests for an intimate evening. The natural hard wood tables and chairs provide by Classic Party rentals added to the overall warmth of the design. A rich garland of greens graced the full length of the table and flowers accented the garland. The traditional basket of flowers saw new purpose when added into the designs.” – Holly Chapple

James started working with a new client named Eventful Rentals out of Santa Barbara and they wanted to do a shoot to show off some of their pieces so we reached out to as many vendors as possible to come together to do this shoot with us. We were so lucky to have Danae Grace Events join us on the shoot. Her styling elevated this shoot and the way she pulled this shoot together in two weeks was so impresseive. We were so blessed to be able to lean on Southern California florists like Margaret Joan Florals and Studio Kate Floral who we have worked with in the past to create floral masterpieces. This portion of the shoot was done by Margaret Joan Florals. She brought Danae’s vision to lift with these incredible florals. OOXX Invitations created custom bespoke invitations to match the industrial style by bringing in a concrete grey texture, contrasted by elegant hand script.
Here is what Danae Grace Events wrote about the inspiration behind this styled shoot:
As a designer, you see trends coming and going. What I love to create and design is a timeless look with unique details that not only encompasses the vision of my clients but inspires others. With the winter season upon us, I wanted to use florals and foliage that are in season but also would create a vintage and industrial style. Proteas are gorgeous flowers as they have a grand essence about them and I wanted them to be part of the statement look.
Using Eventful Rentals inventory, we used their industrial styled table but softened the look with their vintage, tufted/upholstered chairs with fur throws to accent. Margaret Joan Florals pulled my vision to life as she found vases and holders that are in fact from the industrial era and completed the entire look.
This look is great for weddings located anywhere as it holds that soft elegant style but is still has a slight trendy edge to it that gives a unique flair to any event.
